We are excited to have Keith joining us on the Team ABC Coaching staff for the 2013-2014 season as a pre-team coach.
Keith’s climbing roots were set as a kid in central Ohio after a guided trip down to the New River Gorge in West Virginia. He took what he learned from top-roping cracks to the gym, and began to explore all facets of the sport, indoors and out, spending his free time at the New River Gorge and Red River Gorge. After graduating with an Environmental Science degree, he decided to travel and explore the world.
After 20 years of climbing in almost all disciplines of the sport, he still passionately continues his art of movement on stone, and enjoys interpreting the creations presented indoors. Keith loves all kinds of climbing, from Yosemite big –walls on El Capitan, to bouldering test-pieces at Hueco Tanks. Whether a dance, or a struggle, Keith sees the next move as a subtlety which requires efficiency to progress. His skill has taken him to finals in National Competition (sport), where he placed 4th.
His primary joy now comes from handing his experience down to others who are excited about the sport. Whether guiding multi-pitch at Seneca Rocks WV, to giving technical outdoor clinics to teaching kid’s climbing in Japan, he passionately focuses on giving kids the confidence, joy, and art of movement that climbing instills.
